Trends in business, have been changing, over the past few years.

In the 1950’s, business was very stable and as such business leaders, did not need to, CONSTANTLY keep an eye, on all the changes going in their organisations and businesses.

As time has passed, the things have changed, dramatically.

It is no longer pertinent to only take a look at changes in your environment once a year, as was the case in the past.

It has now become necessary to regularly, take a thorough look at all the changes, both positive and negative, which are going on in your sales environment.

The current trends in business, due to technological advancements, globalisation and the ever-changing face of business, makes it crucial to:

  • Take a thorough look at your “OWN SALES ENVIRONMENT“, at least once a month
  • As a “SALES DEPARTMENT”, you should be tracking changes as follows:
    • A general exploration, done by the sales leadership, once a month
    • A thorough examination, where the entire sales team is involved, at least once every quarter.
  • As “AN ORGANISATION“, you should be tracking changes as follows:
    • A general eye, must be kept on the macro environment, by your organisations EXCO, at least once a month
    • A thorough examination, should be conducted every quarter, by the EXCO and leadership in your organisation
    • As an organisation, you should conduct a thorough exploration, of your business, your markets and industry, every year.

Once a year a thorough examination, should be conducted around the STRENGTHS, WEAKNESSES, OPPORTUNITIES and THREATS, faced by your organisation
